I am a DONA-certified birth doula and a DONA-trained postpartum doula, serving families in the greater Sacramento, CA area. As a mother of five, who birthed four and adopted one, I am passionate about family and parenthood. My wish for every birthing person is that they feel supported in having a calm, confident, fearless birth.
When I was birthing my children, I experienced nearly every single medical intervention, not fully understanding that I had options. Today I am more fully aware of the scope of what birth can look like, and I’m in a position to offer that knowledge and support to others. Working in labor and delivery for a few years gave me an understanding of the language within the medical birthing community, and being a doula has given me the ability to help birthing families navigate their choices.
As your doula I will serve as a compassionate and knowledgeable ally to you. During labor and birth, I can help you process information shared by medical staff and will emotionally support you to make decisions that feel best.
My intention is to empower you to make decisions during birth that work best for you. I am here to help you understand what your choices are, and how each decision can affect your birthing experience. There are many options available when it comes to birth. During a hospital birth, for example, there are many pain-management choices including methods to support unmedicated births. Often families don’t know all the options available to them. I am here to help you navigate each step along the way to fulfill your personal birth preferences.
